As part of its revitalization plan, the Department of Tourism (DOT) recently launched its new program Lakbay-Lahi, the Philippine Experience: Heritage, Culture and Arts Caravan in various parts of the islands.
DOT Zambaanga Peninsula Regional Office “Lag na! Dali sa Dipolog, Dapit sa Dapitan” (L4D), a local version of a national program aimed at instilling “pride” among the people of Dipolog and Dapitan in Zambaanga del Norte.
30 tourism organizations, tourism organizations, online, print and broadcast media, airlines, officials and representatives of DOT staff attended the event to discuss the five components of the route: gastronomic tourism, health; Culture, people and heritage; art and music; And fun and adventure.
The group visited Dapitan City Hall, was welcomed by Mayor Seth Frederick Jalosios, and enjoyed the world-class facilities at Dakak Resort and Beach Park, Villa Angelina Luxury Suites, the 18-hole Dakak Country and Golf Club and the Grand Fantasyland theme park.

To take a trip down memory lane, participants visited historic sites such as the Rizal Temple, the plaza where national hero Dr. Jose Rizal was exiled from 1892 to 1896, and a public square with a relief map of Mindanao de Rizal designed by Santiago. The large church and the Punto del Desembarco, a large bronze plaque depicting Rizal landing to begin the exodus.

A new must-see is the Balai Hamo Museum, where the great Malay visited his friend Don Mariano Hamo and spent friendly times with his family.
In Dipolog City, the tour includes Dipolog Fishing School, Demonstration Farm, Holy Rosary Cathedral and Dipolog City Hall and Museum.
A product launch was also held at the Dipolog Boulevard complex with Rondala, Nito Artisan from Pamansalan, Spanish Sardine Packer and local tour operators.
The four-day event is sponsored by the provincial government of Zambaanga del Norte, the municipal governments of Dapitan and Dipalog, and the Romgarjal Development Corporation.
